Up against a good opposition, Cirencester Boys played some of their best hockey of the season.

Conceding 2 early goals, the boys took some time to get in to the match, but gradually throughout the game the play improved and Cirencester started to get more control of the ball. Some great determination and grit shown, Freddie Burt in particular was strong in defence, unfortunately drawing the attention of the umpire with two strong challenges in quick succession earning him a Green Card in the second half.

A good move down the right wing ended up being crossed to the top of the circle and Dylan McKenzie crashed the ball in to the corner.

The second half was an even affair with Cirencester chasing their second goal, being caught up field and conceding 2 goals, but this just galvanised them to dig deeper. And from a Penalty Corner, Griff Harrison drilled one in to the goal.

Everyone played well with good team build up play, but Man of the Match awarded to Freddie Burt for his strong defence, often as the last defender. A special mention also to Angus Crowe who played brilliantly in goal, saving several goal bound attempts.

Some things to work on, but a good performance from everyone.
