A game of 2 halves

Cirencester Ladies 4th X1 met Colwall and Malvern for their first League game of the new year, in extremely cold and wet conditions at the RAU on Saturday. Luckily a well earned win was able to brighten their day.
The first goal came when Becca Hoare, in typical fashion, took on the last line in defence, beat them and slotted the ball away. Unfortunately, after that, Ciren lost their momentum and shape. Colwall came back with 2 good breakaway goals. The home team's heads went down. Luckily the half time whistle came at the right time for them to regroup and reassess.
Captains, Kate Randle and Sarah Ryan knew just what was required to turn things around and, as always, the team responded brilliantly. Even the opposition said they seemed to be playing a different team in the second half. There is a great deal of talent in this team and generally excellent support for each other - a winning combination - and win is what they did.
The equaliser soon came, courtesy of Flo Priestly who picked up a perfect cross from Kate. Not long after, Sarah was on the ball, not far outside Colwall's "D", when she spotted a gap through to a hovering Becca. "Miss Cool" took it around a defender and the Keeper and notched up her second and Ciren's 4th goal.
A 4-2 win and huge congratulations to all for a very spirited performance.
