An interesting week with selection, thanks to everyone who played today and especially to those who doubled up, I hope you are not too sore tomorrow. With a large contingent of last years squad playing in the 2's this week, we called upon a few new faces, thanks to Adam Marriott and Ben Grinnell who joined us from the Badgers and Tom Noble who is new to the area.
Finding our feet in the early part of the game Lansdown dominated the first 10 minutes forcing Cirencester to defend deep, but once the early onslaught subsided, Cirencester started to find their feet. John Tasker and Ben Grinnell were getting more of the ball in the midfield, distributing well down both flanks through Sam Svensson and Julian Shirnia. Kit Lamb (yes GK Kit) playing the link made some telling moves and several half chances fell to Tom Noble and Adam Marriott. Several Penalty Corners ensued, but Cirencester were unable to find the net and Lansdown had stopped being an attacking threat.
Cirencester continued to dominate the second half, and with Bill Birkett and Tom Vinnicombe pushing up from defence, Lansdown eventually found a break away and scored past the advancing Woody in goal. 2 late goals followed and Cirencester were left wondering how they had lost this one.
