Gray Vinnicombe (Central Defensive Midfield), Steve Foster (Right Wing Back and Lead Coach), John Partridge (Left Midfield & Scorer of the Winning Goals in both the Semi-Final and Final) playing for LX England at the IMC World Cup.

It's a tough format: seven full matches in 10 days, plus 2 full training sessions (with a day off!) culminated in LX (England) beating Southern Cross (Australia) in a tense, feisty and competitive final. 1-1 at full time, LX won the penalty shuffle 'shoot-out' 2-1. Nerves shredded!!

This was a fantastic performance following trials and selection in February and then six months of training and practice matches. It's a big personal and financial commitment but well worth it for the massive sporting reward. The LX squad of 17 comprised players aged 65 to 69 from all regions of England and three from Ciren is a great achievement.

The host Club, Push Breda, have a fantastic 7 Astro ground (yes, seven, 4 of them water based) and ran both the National Competition and the IMC for three different age groups involving 18 nations and over 80 teams. An unforgettable experience.
