CLUB UMPIRES REQUIRED - MESSAGE FROM THE UMPIRES CO-ORDINATOR

We have only 10 regular club umpires to cover all club games except the Mens 1st XI who have appointed umpires
for all league games.This is not enough to cover every week of the season and we are in real danger of having
to forfeit games. This is not a good situation for our club to be in.

I can arrange a level 1 umpiring course to get more Cirencester HC members qualified to umpire. Normally the
course involves 2 x 2 hour periods of theory teaching and then a final exam. You will then be assessed during
a club game.From experience I can say that for anyone who plays regularly and is interested in umpiring then
the qualification is very easy to achieve. It also improves your own playing and enjoyment of the game.

NOTE: Swindon HC are running a Level 1 Umpires Course on Sunday 8th Feb 09 - applications required by
8th Jan 09 at the latest - please contact me asap if interested

The club will pay for the training, insurance and £10 per game, so your match fee will effectively be paid each
time you umpire.I would like to get at least 1 player from each team, preferably 2, to volunteer for this and
then I will make all of the arrangements for the course later this year.Please call me if you are interested
