Under 16 Eagles v Corsham

Great effort by Eagles today against a decent Corsham side. We were under pressure slightly more in the first half and were indebted on occasions to Tabitha who was back to top form today. Julia on debut was lively in attack. Charlotte and Emma were returning after a long gap in playing and did well. We also welcomed Atia and Evie from the Under 14s who put in sterling performances.

Overall secure in defence with Hannah threatening in attack. Second half we engaged the opposition more aggressively and won the 50/50 balls and we scored from such a transition with a good through ball to Lizzie who finished with aplomb. The second half was only 10 minutes old when we scored a second with Lizzie repeating the dose;, through pass, touch, goal. After that we spurned a few chances but Corsham were always dangerous and deservedly got a goal back in the last minute. Great to win a tight game and hopefully the players will take confidence in to future matches. Well played team!
